Remedial Massage

Let's work together to treat your pain and dysfunction and enjoy more freedom of movement

My background in education and competitive sport led to my understanding of the impact of overuse injuries and their effect on my quality of life. I explored treatment options and was impressed with the effectiveness of massage in improving long term postural issues as well as short term sports related injuries.
I have since pursued my interest in health and well being, training with the Australian College of Massage (ACM) to graduate in 2010 with a Diploma of Remedial Massage. I am also a trainer teaching the Diploma of Remedial Massage qualification. My interest in promoting the importance of keeping active at every stage of life has generated a focus in my work for treating people with:
  • pain and dysfunction
  • chronic, long term postural problems
  • short term overuse and sports injuries.

Remedial Massage

Remedial Massage

Remedial massage is the assessment and treatment of pain and dysfunction. The site of pain and dysfunction may not always be the origin of the problem so assessment is an important part of the treatment process. This can include: physical assessment, range of movement testing and functional muscle testing, to identify a focus for the treatment.

Myofascial Cupping

Myofascial Cupping

Unlike other massage techniques that use compression, myofascial cupping “lifts and separates” soft tissue. This can increase nutrient rich blood supply to the tissue whilst giving a gentle passive stretch to the underlying soft tissue. Myofascial cupping can assist the body in: maintaining range of motion, eliminating myofascial trigger points, and reducing restrictive, sometimes painful fascial adhesions caused by repetitive movement.

Deep Tissue

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage focusses primarily on the deeper layers of muscle and fascia. Fascia is connective tissue and it forms the largest system in the body like a 3D web interconnecting through, between and around all other structures in the body. Deep tissue can be used for chronic pain and contracted areas such as, stiff neck and upper back, lower back pain, shoulder and leg tightness.
